|Khomas teachers awarded

The |Khomas Regional Council held an award ceremony for the teachers in the region.

The awards are meant to recognise, appreciate, and honour all those who have contributed positively to education in the region.

Paulus Nghikembua, the |Khomas Region's director of education, described education as a calling that necessitates one's responsibility, obligation, and accountability.


"We could not do it in 2021, and we could also not do it last year, but this year we are doing it to acknowledge the work that you have done."

Keep a Girl Child in school initiative

The "Keep a Girl Child in School" initiative aims to empower and educate young women on menstrual hygiene management and reproductive health and provide them with sanitary pads.

Three young women from the Omaheke Region, Jatjizavi Kavendjaa, Otja Kavara, and Kakuna Katuuo, came together and started the "Keep a Girl Child in School" initiative.

The project, which started in January this year, has covered six different schools in Omaheke thus far, and there are plans to visit Outjo and Otavi.
