Management and security flaws at Skeleton Coast Park

An oversight report, presented by the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Economics and Public Administration, Natangue Ithete, has revealed significant shortcomings in the management and security of Skeleton Coast Park in the Erongo and Kunene Regions.

The report, compiled after visits to exploration sites abandoned since the early 1970s and those with active EPL licenses, highlights a lack of synergy between the Ministry of Mines and Skeleton Coast Park.

Modernisation of national railways a need

The Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Economics and Public Administration, Natangwe Ithete, has emphasised the necessity of revising and modernising the national railway system in a way that stimulates growth and development.

Ithete said this during a visit by the members of the standing committee to ||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick.

The standing committee is currently conducting an oversight visit to assess the management of railway services, infrastructure, and facilities in the southern region.
