Lodger mothers accompanying admitted babies cause bed shortages

Breadcrumb

In response to LPM's Utaara Mootu's inquiry about bed shortages at the Katutura Intermediate Hospital, Health Minister Kalumbi Shangula attributed the issue to the high numbers of lodger mothers accompanying admitted babies, causing overcrowding.

Dr. Shangula informed the house that a decision was made to allow mothers to stay with their admitted babies to promote recovery and bonding, considering separating them at such a critical time would not be beneficial.
