The government's efforts to address the water crisis in the eastern parts of the Ohangwena Region are progressing well, as plans to improve water quality in the area gain momentum.

The recently launched Orange-Senqu River Basin Third Joint Survey Report has raised concerns about the declining water quality in the river basin. The survey, conducted by the Orange-Senqu River Basin Commission (ORASECOM), was presented during an event in Aussenkehr.

Romeo Muyunda, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism, has confirmed the water situation at Ngenda.

Muyunda stated that samples were taken from the water treatment plant in 2023 for testing, and it was determined that the water posed a low health risk.
