President Nangolo Mbumba emphasised that if re-elected, the Swapo Party will prioritise economic development.
Dr. Mbumba spoke at a rally in Mupini Village, Kavango West Region, asserting the party’s commitment to enhancing citizens' living standards through improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
Despite being a relatively young region, Mbumba highlighted the significant progress Kavango West has made.
"Water is a basic human right; therefore, access to safe drinking water is essential for our citizens. To minimize human-animal conflict, we have drilled 27 new boreholes across all five constituencies and modernized two traditional wells in Mpungu Constituency."
Dr. Mbumba noted that the Swapo Party's presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, is dedicated to investing in agriculture to provide economic benefits that will be felt by all Namibians.
"The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reform has expanded the Milling Plant at Katwitwi, which is currently supplying maize meal to the Office of the Prime Minister for the Drought Relief Programme. This initiative has benefited over 31,000 households in the region. We are committed to ensuring that all our Green Schemes in both Kavango East and Kavango West Regions can become the breadbasket of our country."
President Mbumba urged eligible voters to remain sober on election day to ensure a peaceful electoral process.
He also advised against last-minute rushes.
