President Nangolo Mbumba has withheld signing two private member's bills, the Definition of Spouses Bill and the Marriage Amendment Bill, citing constitutional concerns.

The Council of Churches in Namibia (CCN) will pronounce itself on the matter of same-sex marriages after in-depth deliberations at its meeting scheduled for next week.

This is contained in a statement that the CCN leadership presented to President Nangolo Mbumba at State House.
