One year after the fatal car crash in which 16 people, comprising police officers, correctional service officers, and two civilians, perished, family members and former colleagues gathered to remember them.
The accident happened last year on the 30th of August near Mariental.
One person died, while two others were seriously injured in two separate accidents that occurred within minutes of each other on Windhoek’s Western Bypass early this morning.
The incidents occurred on the B1 road near Pioneers Park.
The residents of Kunene came together in mourning during a mass memorial service for the 11 victims who died in an accident involving the Ministry of Health patient bus between Otjiwarongo and Okahandja on the 1st of May.
Three people died in a car accident on Friday along the Omitara-Otjinene road.
They have been identified as Tjeripo Tjeripo, Vandjeka Kutuouvi; and Vezemboua Hiuii.
The deceased were travelling in a minibus that had 15 occupants and was en route from Windhoek to Otjinene.
Erongo Police confirmed that eight people died in a head-on collision between a minibus and a truck between Swakopmund and Arandis around 21:00 last night.
