The late University of Namibia (UNAM)’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Keto Mshingeni, has been hailed as a man of exceptional intellect and unwavering commitment to the pursuit of knowledge.

Professor Mshingeni died on the 22nd of this month in Tanzania.

OVER 300 LUHONONO RESIDENTS DISPLACED BY FLOODS

At least over 300 residents in the nearby Luhonono villages that are flooded have relocated to an open space opposite Schumansburg Combined School, where tent-like structures have been built from tree branches and black plastic bags.

NBC Director General Stanley Similo says the organisation has introduced an audit tracking system and has improved its asset register.

He added that NBC transitioned to IPSAS accounting standards in April last year and expects full compliance within two years.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah revealed that Namibia has scrapped a law requiring fathers' presence as a prerequisite for mothers to obtain birth certificates.

The president noted that this regulation had previously hindered many Namibians from acquiring essential documents.
