ACC lead investigator objects Tamson Hatuikulipi's bail application


The lead investigator of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Andreas Kanyangela, has again objected to the granting of bail to Tamson Hatuikulipi, one of the accused in the fishrot case.

Kanyangela says Hatuikulipi was key in assisting the Icelandic fishing company, Samherji, to gain access to fishing quotas which were allocated to three right holders.

Erongo inaugurates first ACC stakeholders Forum


The Erongo Region has inaugurated the first Anti-Corruption Stakeholders Forum aimed at fighting corruption.

The forum, chaired by Erongo Governor Neville Andre, is part of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan for 2021 to 2025.

The Head of Public Education and Corruption Prevention says the ACC has identified structures, which include regional forums, as key to closing loopholes in various sectors.

ACC clears Desiree Davids of corruptly misusing her position for own benefit


The Anti-Corruption Commission has cleared former City of Windhoek Councillor Desiree Davids of corruptly misusing her position on the council to fast-track her application for an erf in Windhoek’s Rocky Crest residential area.

Dawids was further accused of making use of officials from the Office of the Mayor and its letterhead to give the impression that the application was sanctioned by the Mayor’s office.
