The National Spokesperson of the Namibian Police, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, has informed the media that the official report by the police, in which five men were allegedly shot and killed by the Namibian Police Force and members of the Windhoek City Police, might be released today.

Three people found in possession of cannabis

Three people found in possession of close to N$40,000 worth of cannabis made their appearance in the Rundu Magistrate Court.

The police in Oshana Region have arrested a 25-year-old male suspect for allegedly importing contraband into Namibia.

The police, who were conducting a patrol on Tuesday on the Ondangwa-Oshikango road, spotted a white bakkie, which appeared suspicious due to its heavy loading.

Man commits suicide by slitting his throat

A 43-year-old man, Ndafelai Nghilifilwa, committed suicide by stabbing himself in the stomach and cutting his throat with a traditional knife (Omukonda) in his bedroom at Ononge village in the Nehale Lyampingana Constituency in full view of his seven-month-pregnant wife.

Police confers 51 officers from all 14 regions with new ranks

The Namibian Police have conferred 51 officers, 30 men, and 21 women, from all 14 regions with new ranks.

However, due to distance only 23 could attend the official event in Windhoek, with the rest being conferred by their respective regional commanders.   

Several robberies recorded in Katutura

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) recorded four robberies in Windhoek’s Katutura residential area last week.

According to a NamPol crime report issued on Sunday, a 22-year-old female Chinese national was allegedly robbed at Single Quarters in Vicky Ipinge Street around 10h00 on Tuesday.
