President Nangolo Mbumba says Namibia considers India a friendly nation both pre- and post-independence and a strategic partner in bilateral relations.

Five new diplomatic Heads of Mission accredited to Namibia have reiterated their commitment to strengthening relations with Namibia.

The diplomats presented their letters of credence to President Nangolo Mbumba at State House on Wednesday.

All roads lead to Walvis Bay Independence Beach, where about 600 people are expected to attend the World Ocean Day celebrations hosted by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources.

President Nangolo Mbumba has commended the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA-TCFA) for the organisation's efforts and effect on Namibia. 

President Nangolo Mbumba has returned from Livingstone, Zambia, after participating in the one-day Heads of State Summit for the Kavango-Zambezi Trans-Frontier Conservation Area. 

President Nangolo Mbumba has lauded the progress made through the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) agreement.

President Nangolo Mbumba has declared a State of Emergency over the persistent drought affecting all regions of Namibia.

The State of Emergency has been declared as of May 22 under Article 26(1) of the Namibian Constitution as well as the Disaster Risk Management Act.

President Nangolo Mbumba says the annual Omagongo Festival, which is hosted on a rotational basis by the eight Aawambo traditional authorities, remains an enabler for communities to gather and share history, traditions, and practices. 

President Nangolo Mbumba is pleased with the collaboration between the judiciaries of Namibia and Zimbabwe.

He says such collaboration anchors firm foundations in the dispensation of justice to the citizens of both countries.

President Nangolo Mbumba says N$482 million more is needed for Namibia's Drought Relief Programme.

Owing to this shortfall, he appealed for assistance from SADC and bilateral and international stakeholders.
