Donations have started trickling in for the two centres at Onamhinda A and B in the Ohangwena Region, where over 200 people have been temporarily relocated from their homes following heavy flooding.
Residents, including children from Ohangwena Region's Onamhinda village, were relocated to higher grounds after their houses and mahangu fields were submerged by floodwaters from southern Angola.
The Ohangwena Region has so far relocated 235 people from the Oshikango and Engela constituencies. These two constituencies are among the most affected by the floods, along with Ohangwena, Ongenga, and Endola.
Residents of Oshikunde's Onamafila village and the surrounding areas are calling for urgent action as their recently constructed primary health care clinic remains closed more than a year after completion.
