The Swapo Party has condemned the violent and senseless killings and urged law enforcement agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.

The Swapo Party marks its 65th anniversary today.

Founded in 1960 as the successor to the Ovamboland People's Organization, Swapo played a pivotal role in Namibia's liberation struggle and has been the ruling party since the country gained independence in 1990.

In his maiden speech, Swapo Party MP Willem Amutenya expressed his commitment to laws and policies that promote the socioeconomic and political inclusion of Namibia’s youth.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Natangwe Ithete, has underscored the critical need for Namibians to fully benefit from the country’s abundant natural resources, particularly in regions like Erongo, which is rich in natural deposits.

The dispute arose over a motion tabled by the Swapo party's Philipus Katamelo, proposing an amendment to Rule 2 of the Standing Rules and Orders.

She says Nujoma's achievements have inspired her to cherish freedom and remain committed to true sovereignty.

Namibia's former ambassador to Libya, Nicky Nashandi, shared his journey in the liberation struggle as Swapo Party representative appointed by the late Sam Nujoma.

He was also tasked with mobilising resources from the Libyan Defence Force.
