Hardap, ||Kharas kick-start efforts to put in place own power systems

Local and Regional Authorities in the Hardap and ||Kharas regions kick-started efforts to put in place their own power systems in partnership with independent power producers. 

Political Office bearers of the two regions gathered at Keetmanshoop to explore ways how to set up their own power systems. 

The ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson Joseph Isaack explains that the authorities through their own power systems want to create employment and make access to electricity cheaper. 

Angola's Ambassador to Namibia visits Hardap and ||Kharas governors

Angolan Ambassador to Namibia, Jovelina e Costa is on a familiarization visit in the ||Kharas and Hardap Regions, where she is expected to meet with Angolan citizens based there. 

It is unclear how many Angolan nationals are currently residing in the two regions. 

The symbiotic relationship between the two neighbours dates back decades with the civil war in Angola and the liberation struggle for Namibia's independence solidifying their friendship which withstood the test of time. 

Landlocked communities find it difficult to access fish

Consuming fish can increase protein intake and promote a healthy lifestyle. However, many landlocked communities in Namibia find it difficult to access fish. 

It is against this background that the Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust, NFSPT, is introducing different programmes to ensure that these communities have access to fish.

The promotion of fish consumption in Aranos is just one of the many activities planned by the NFSPT.
