Hardap Governor Salomon April has called for collaborative approaches to realise inclusive economic growth in the region.
While delivering the State of the Region Address, April said, that only then will the region address issues of poverty, unemployment, drought, and quality service delivery.
"The citizens of Hardap Region have hopes that the discovery of oil and gas and green hydrogen will bring them much-needed relief. We are deliberate in using the interest in green hydrogen to stimulate other sectors of our economy."
April also indicated that Daweb Constituency has established a poultry project and rehabilitated water pits at the cost of N$277,692.
In the Gibeon Constituency, settlements including Soutputs, Swartdam, and August-Dam, as well as the Khaibasen Kraal Project, were electrified for N$50,000.
A total of N$5 million was allocated for the expansion of oxidation ponds and interlocked paving in Hoachanas as well as for fencing material for the orchard at Bernafay Resettlement Farm in the Mariental Rural.
N$139,690 were spent on the establishment of a vegetable garden at Voightsgrund and water pipes at New Haribes resettlement farms in Mariental Urban.
Residents of Paris and Schlip in Rehoboth Rural benefitted from an electrification and sanitation project valued at N$576,000.
An amount of N$42,500 was spent on fencing and debushing the graveyard at Banhoff in Rehoboth Urban East.
"Urban West, a total of N$495,000 was spent on a primary health care clinic in `Rehoboth Block G."
Governor April, reporting on the health sector, says measles and rubella coverage stands at 78%.
The region recorded a 100% success treatment rate among patients with drug-resistant TB, while it recorded an overall TB treatment rate of 91% for new and relapse cases.
On the education front, classrooms were constructed at |Aes Secondary School, Stampriet Primary School, and Empelheim Secondary School.
Crime in the region has increased by six percent.
The governor says 23,083 beneficiaries have been registered for the government's social grants programme during the financial year under review.
He furthermore urges the region's inhabitants to vote in the upcoming 27 November Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
"We only have each other; let's not allow any other temporary dividers to keep us divided. Let's remain true to who we are. We are Namibians. We are Hardapians. Let the political campaigns not turn us into enemies; we cannot be enemies."
The governor also noted that service delivery is the main commitment binding political leadership in the region across party lines.
