Man arrested for alleged rape at Rosh Pinah

A man has been arrested at Rosh Pinah after allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.

According to the Namibian Police, the teenager was looking for a ride from Rosh Pinah to Noordoewer. The 49-year-old driver, who is the suspect, then took the teen to his house, allegedly informing her that he was waiting for additional passengers who were scheduled to arrive from Oranjemund.

The suspect then raped the girl, according to the police report.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Rosh Pinah police holding cells.

Retired Educational Director in Zambezi Region makes first court appearance

Innocent Mahoto, a 78-year-old retired Director of Education in the Zambezi Region, appeared before Katima Mulilo Magistrate Davy Kambinda for the first time.

He is facing charges related to rape.

Mahoto stands accused of raping a 16-year-old girl who is a learner at one of the local schools in the Zambezi Region.

It is alleged that he had a sexual relationship with her from December 2022 to March 2023.

Rape, murder suspects plead not guilty to all charges in Katutura Magistrate's Court

Matroos Raymond and Rajiv Jossep, accused of raping and murdering 29-year-old Quinteline Bonnita ǂEixas, a mother of four, in 2021, pleaded not guilty to both charges in the Katutura Magistrate's Court.

ǂEixas' s lifeless body was discovered on the premises of a church in Katutura by a caretaker.

Reports say the 29-year-old died as a result of blunt force trauma and injuries to the head after perpetrators used bricks and blunt objects, breaking her skull.

Two men appear in Rundu Magistrate's Court for allegedly raping a minor

Two men, a father, and his son, appeared in the Rundu Magistrate's Court for raping their minor daughter and sister, respectively.

The duo was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping the minor at Naingopo Village in Kavango West's Ncuncuni Constituency.

It is alleged that the 63-year-old Angolan national raped his daughter and threatened her not to report what had happened.

His 18-year-old son is also accused of committing a similar heinous crime against his 15-year-old sister.

Bonny Araeb arrested on rape allegations

Popular Ma|Gaisa producer Bonny Araeb (38) has been arrested on allegations of rape.

Araeb appeared on Friday at the Swakopmund Magistrates Court.

It is alleged that he raped two minors, aged 4 and 5, on several occasions during November and December of last year.

The minors are said to be Araeb's stepchildren.

According to the Namibian Police in the Erongo Region, the biological father had sent the two girls to their mother (Araeb's then-girlfriend).

The girls, upon their return, revealed the rape incident to their aunt.

Father allegedly rapes and impregnates 13-year-old daughter

A 13-year-old minor is pregnant after allegedly being raped by her father.

The incident occurred in December at the Owambo location in Grootforntein.

It is alleged that the suspect (44), who is the biological father of the victim, raped the victim three times on different days, and in the process, the victim became pregnant.

According to the Namibian Police, the suspect also allegedly threatened to kill the victim with a knife if she told anyone.

The girl is a Grade 8 learner in the Grootfontein district.

Two male learners arrested for allegedly raping a 9-year old girl

Police in the Omusati Region have arrested two male learners, aged 15 and 10, while another is on the run for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl at Omaandi village in Oshikuku constituency.

It is alleged that three suspects, one of whom is still on the run, had sexual intercourse with the victim, who sustained serious injuries to her private parts and is now receiving medical attention at Oshikuku Catholic Hospital.

Both suspects are expected to appear in the Outapi Magistrate's Court today.

Police investigations in the matter continue.

CRIME REPORT | Minor rape incidences

Five incidents of rape involving minors have been reported to the Namibian Police over the weekend.

The youngest victim is a 7-year-old girl who was allegedly raped under coercive circumstances by a 30-year-old man at the Okambogo village in the Onyaana area. The suspect has been arrested and will appear in court on Monday.

A 10-year-old girl allegedly fell victim to rape in the Onesie Constituency's Omalyadhila village; the suspect is known but no arrest has been made, and police investigations continue.
