Former President Nangolo Mbumba has called on global societies to work together to build inclusive governance structures that prioritise the well-being of all people.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says she feels empowered and encouraged by the support given to her by former Presidents Hifikepunye Pohamba and Nangolo Mbumba, describing them as strong pillars to lean on and shoulders to cry on during her tenure as Head of State.

Over 400 students graduated from the University of Namibia's Rundu Campus on Thursday. The graduates received qualifications in various fields, marking the end of their academic journey and the start of new paths in their careers.

The President of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, said this Independence Day not only marks a historic day for Namibia but for the SADC region, as it swore in its third female President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.  

A new chapter in Namibia's history was written as former President Nangolo Mbumba, a steady force over the past year, officially handed over the reins of power to Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the first woman to hold the highest office in Namibia. 

President Nangolo Mbumba has commended the members of Cabinet for delivering on tasks, despite a series of traumatic events the country went through over the past few years.

President Nangolo Mbumba has emphasised Namibia's commitment to transitioning from its 100% reliance on fossil fuels towards renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and thermal energy. 

President Nangolo Mbumba has applauded the seed development project, spearheaded by the Indonesian Embassy in collaboration with institutions of higher learning in both countries.

The Supreme Court will deliver its judgement on February 28 in the case challenging President Nangolo Mbumba’s decision to extend the recent presidential election.

President Nangolo Mbumba paid tribute to the late Founding President, Sam Nujoma, saying that he spared no effort to motivate Namibians from all walks of life to build a country that would stand tall among nations of the world.
