The search for the missing 6-year-old Adrian Myne Oswyn from Karibib has been called off.

This is after the police discovered body parts, a torso and a head, in the sewage dam at Karibib on Wednesday.

The legs and arms were discovered on Tuesday in a maize meal bag near the sewage dam.

The Erongo region police commander, Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona, confirmed that the remains were identified as those of Oswyn, who went missing last week.

“It is positively identified but we still need to conduct a forensic confirmation through DNA,” he said.

Regional Commander Nikolaus Kupembona confirmed the gruesome discovery to nbc News.

The Commissioner says two legs, arms and feet were found in the plastic bag but the rest of the body parts were not there.

According to him, the police are suspecting that the body parts belong to a child because of the small size of the feet.
