Windhoek City Councillor Fransina Kahungu has expressed disappointment with some officials who do not attend to public reports on time in order to fix broken infrastructure such as pipes, taps, and toilets.

Kahungu, who was speaking at a public engagement, says maintenance should be done while the institution still has funds to allow residents to pay for the services required.

National Council Chairperson Lukas Muha has encouraged active public engagement in the law-making processes as it is a critical component of democratic governance.

He made the call while engaging community members at Gibeon in the Hardap Region.

The community engagement was part of the National Council Outreach Programme, with the main objective being to create an awareness of the review and oversight role of the National Council.

It also aims to increase the public's understanding of the House of Parliament, said Muha.
