Cross-border crimes between Namibia and Angola remain a concern for law enforcement agencies from both countries.

African leaders, including Vice President Nangolo Mbumba, who attended the Quadripartite Summit, have decided to institutionalise the platform to continue to harmonise consultations on peace efforts in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The Former Minister of Marine Resources Bernhardt Esau asserted that Namibia and its citizens benefited from an agreement that was entered into with Angola.

Esau said this during the continuation of his bail hearing application.

The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Dr. Peya Mushelenga, says mobile technology network towers along the Okavango River serve Angola more than Namibia.

Dr. Mushelenga visited Kavango East's Ndiyona Constituency to assess the network coverage in the area.

Angolan company Operatec has partnered with Namibians to construct a multi-million dollar marine and industrial training academy at Walvis Bay.

The academy will provide specialized and internationally certified training for local marine personnel in the oil and gas industry.

Angolan Ambassador to Namibia, Jovelina e Costa is on a familiarization visit in the ||Kharas and Hardap Regions, where she is expected to meet with Angolan citizens based there. 

It is unclear how many Angolan nationals are currently residing in the two regions. 

The Namibia Police (NamPol) has also been on the ground assessing the flood situation in Ohangwena Region, which is advancing towards the Oshana Region.

Today (Monday) marks the fourth day since flood waters from neighboring Angola poured in at Oimbadalunga Village in the Ohangwena Region.

As the water keeps trickling in, residents and visitors alike are urged not to hit the panic button, as authorities say the situation remains under control.

Flood waters from southern Angola entered the Engela Constituency of the Ohangwena Region.

Residents living in flood-prone areas in the Ohangwena Region have been urged to be vigilant of the dangers that flood waters pose.

Residents of Oimba-dalunga in the Ohangwena Region were the first to witness the flood waters coming into Namibia from Angola on Friday. 

Some access roads leading to Engela hospital and surrounding villages from Oimbadalunga have already been flooded.
