ACC calls for coordinated efforts in curbing corruption scourge

The Anti-Corruption Commission has appealed for an international coordinated effort in the investigation of money laundering-related organised crimes.
 
The appeal was made at the commemoration of Anti-Corruption Day at Katima Mulilo.


The Anti-Corrutiption Commission (ACC) marked the day in different regions to create awareness for people to understand what the consequences of corruption could be and their role thereto.

The best method to increase awareness about corruption is when the nation at all levels takes part and sets the agenda for promoting good governance.

This was said by the Director-General of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Paulus Noa, at the official launch of the Anti-Corruption Song Competition at NBC's Studio 4.

The secondary school competition aims to harness the power of art and raise awareness about corruption, its detrimental effects on society, and the need for collective action to combat it.

The Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) Director General, Paulus Noa is dismayed by some Namibians who because of their greediness and corrupt ways continue to plunder the country's natural resources, while the poor continue to suffer.

Speaking at the commemoration of the International Anti-Corruption Day at Outapi, Noa says Namibia is endowed with abundant natural resources that can be used to improve lives and accelerate development.

However, because of greedy elements, many people continue to be on the receiving end.
