The Namibian Theatre and Film Awards will return in 2026 after a six-year break.

The awards are scheduled to take place in March at the National Theatre of Namibia.

In a bid to continue serving Namibians and champion their interests, Landless People's Movement (LPM) leader Bernadus Swartbooi urged residents to vote for the party's candidates in the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections.

As Namibians gear up for the polls, the duplication of voter cards is moving slowly in the village towns of Maltahöhe and Gibeon. Local officials say fewer than five residents in each town have come forward to apply since the process began.

Residents of Gibeon have expressed serious concerns over the continued use of the bucket toilet system, calling it a pressing health risk that requires urgent intervention. 

Elphine Skrywer, Chairperson of the Maltahöhe Village Council, has urged political leaders and voters to put the needs of the community at the forefront during the upcoming elections.

The late Archbishop Julius Hoveka of Father Tjijombo St John's Faith Mission was buried in Otjombinde, in the Omaheke Region, on Sunday.

The recently ordained Archbishop died last week in Windhoek at the age of 82.

Namibia's Ambassador to Angola aims to prioritise collaboration in water, agriculture, ICT and oil and gas between the two countries.
