Endobo evictees who have been camping outside the compound since September 2022, are calling on the municipality to address them on the way forward.

Occupants of about 72 households were evicted from Endobo last year and 47 received plots from Tsumeb Municipality.

Currently, there are 37 families still outside Endobo, a place they have now named Osire Number 2.

Over the seven months that they settled outside the compound, the evictees say they endured heavy rains and were subjected to insect bites because they are close to a bushy area and a riverbed.

The group wants the municipality to address them saying they feel ignored. They are also in need of mosquito nets to protect the six newborn babies onsite.

There are still 12 households inside the complex. The owner of the complex however confirmed that they will also be served with eviction notices.

Tsumeb Councillor Gottlieb Ndendjela refused to comment on record while the municipality Chief Executive Officer Victoria Kapenda told our news team not to seek information from her office, but to wait until they communicate to the media.
