A group of business personalities from India are in Namibia to explore investment opportunities.

The group of investors arrived in the country on Wednesday at the invitation of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).

Their businesses specialise in various sectors such as water, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, fisheries, and aquatic resources, as well as other health sector products.

NIPDB CEO and Chairperson Nangula Uaandja welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for their prompt and positive response to the invitation.

Uaandja thus shared the various available investment opportunities in Namibia, which they can explore and ultimately bring economic growth and job creation.

Among them, Uaandja singled out opportunities in the renewable energy sector, agriculture, mining, pharmaceuticals, and qualified personnel ready for the job market.

She says despite Namibia's smaller population, every investment made in the country stands to benefit both the country and Africa, as well as the world as a whole.

Uaandja singled out the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the various international trade protocols, including SACU, as potential areas of trade for Indian investors.

Representatives from ministries such as Finance and Public Enterprises, Agriculture, Health, and Social Services, among others, attended the engagement.

The delegation is expected to leave Namibia on Sunday.
