Namibia has a diverse group of people with distinct cultures and traditions, and according to nbc Director General Stanley Similo, the nbc undertook to do everything it could to cover all traditional and cultural events that promote nation-building and foster unity.
Similo made the remark during a courtesy visit by the organisers of the recently held Nongozi Cultural Expo, which was held in Judea Lyaboloma Constituency in the Zambezi Region.
nbc covered the event on all its platforms, and village headman Austin Samupwa lauded the public broadcaster for taking its message to the far corners of the country.
The Nongozi Cultural Expo is hosted in a very remote rural environment and aims to grow the rural economy, and Stanley Similo says it is the job of the broadcaster to go the extra mile.
The only hindrance is the limited network coverage across the country, which makes it seemless to broadcast on TV.
Similio also advised those who would in the future wish for coverage of similar events to take note of the powerful medium and reach of radio.
Samupwa encouraged more residents to take part in next year's event while also appealing for support from those who are able to contribute to improving the expo.
