Okorukambe Constituency Councillor Rocco Nguvauva is pleased with the progress made at the Epukiro RC to Epukiro Pos 3 phase two road construction.

The eight-kilometre-long phase-two bitumen road is expected to be completed next year.

The constituency councillor of Okorukambe, Rocco Nguvauva, told nbc News that the work has started as planned this month with the construction of the bypass road as a detour while construction is under way.

Nguvauva added that through his office and the contractor, a list of local unemployed community members has been compiled to assist with the construction of the road.

Another aspect that has been a thorn in the flesh is the issue of water to be used for the construction of the road. Community members at Epukiro RC had various demands if they had to provide water, but through local leaders and the contractor, the issue has been resolved.

Nguvauva also added that through the Ministry and Roads Authority, it has been agreed that upon completion of phase two, phase three will commence, which is a 30-kilometre-long road to Epukiro Pos 3.
