The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, says over the past 33 years, the Swapo Party-led government has delivered the most needed infrastructure development throughout the country.

She says the government has delivered educational and health infrastructure, roads, and other key elements with the potential to drive the socio-economic transformation of all Namibians.

Theofelus remarked this during a Swapo Party recruitment drive at Kalimbeza Village in the Zambezi Region, where she received 39 new members.

The MICT Minister emphasised that the Swapo Party-led government continues to invest in education and health, as seen in the recently tabled 2024–2025 national budget. 

She urged young people to use the opportunities created by the government through Agribank and the Ministry of National Service to develop their skills.

She further urged the youth to do their homework and make sure that they lead themselves before tasking others to lead.

Theofelus says leadership starts with oneself.

Vocational training, Theofelus says,  must be embraced by the youth if they want to see Namibia industrialised. 

Theofelus encouraged the youth to guard against gender-based violence that continues to rob the country of the most productive members of families, communities, and the nation.

Zambezi Governor Alufea Sampofu called upon the youth to ensure that the spirit of the first Vice President of Swapo, Brendan Simbwaye, who hailed from the Malindi area adjacent to Kalimbeza, is kept alive.

Both speakers encouraged all eligible Namibians to register and take part in the upcoming national elections on November 27.

All holders of voter cards issued in 2014 are required to re-register.
