The All People's Party's Linus Muchila was sworn in today by Justice Dave Smuts as a member of Parliament in the National Assembly.

Muchila replaces Erastus Shuumbwa, who resigned from the National Assembly.

Muchila, who also serves as the Vice President of the All People's Party, acknowledged the limited time available ahead of the upcoming elections but emphasised his commitment to addressing key societal issues.

These include the Basic Income Grant as a priority, stating that his swearing-in as a member of the National Assembly will give attention to this matter.

He also pledged to tackle other pressing issues, such as land ownership and ensuring food security for all citizens.

The party will launch its election manifesto next week.
