The CAF African Schools Football Championship kicked off today, featuring exciting competition at the Jan Wilkens Stadium in Walvis Bay.

Day 1 was filled with goals as both girls' and boys' teams battled it out on the pitch.

In the opening match, Namibia faced a tough 6-0 defeat against Malawi, largely due to critical errors that Malawi capitalised on. 

The final match saw South Africa dominate Angola, winning 3-0 with a commanding performance.

The Namibian girls fought to a 2-2 draw against Malawi. 

Meanwhile, South Africa's girls showcased their dominance, crushing Zimbabwe 7-0 and later demolishing Angola with a staggering 13-0 scoreline.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Zimbabwe and Eswatini will kick off Day 2 of the Championships at 9 AM, while Namibia seeks redemption against Lesotho at 10 AM.

In the ladies' game, South Africa will aim to maintain their winning streak against Eswatini.

Both the boys and girls will be vying for a spot in the semi-finals, which are scheduled to commence at 15:00 at the Jan Wilkens Stadium in Walvis Bay.
