Swapo’s Vice President and presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, announced that the party would prioritise the agriculture, mining, and tourism sectors in Kavango West Region at a rally in Nkurenkuru.
Nandi-Ndaitwah noted that a new lodge will soon be developed in Mangetti National Park, creating jobs and boosting tourism in the area. “A lodge to attract tourists is already designated for Mangetti National Park. That will create jobs, adding to the 15 people currently managing the park, and open opportunities for more tourist facilities,” she stated.
She also highlighted the party’s commitment to poverty alleviation, education reform, and enhancing social grants for children, the elderly, and veterans, while ensuring service delivery remains a priority.
Addressing the region’s infrastructure, Nandi-Ndaitwah updated supporters on ongoing road upgrades. “These projects are part of our commitment to create jobs for the youth and invest in sports,” she emphasized, adding that a consultant has been appointed for the Independence Stadium.
