NamWater has announced significant improvements in dam levels across the country.

This follows the heavy rainfall experienced in most parts of the country over the past few days.

Lot Ndamanomhata, the head of NamWater Public Relations, said that positive inflows have been recorded in key dams, boosting water security for households, agriculture, and industries.

He said that the Swakoppoort Dam increased from 15.9% to 24.4% of full capacity, while the Von Bach Dam increased from 10.7% to 23.5%.

The Hardap Dam saw an increase from 5.5% to 14.8% and received the highest positive flow at over 27 million cubic meters.

Remaining in the south, the Neckartal Dam swelled from 76.8% to 77.8%.

Collectively, the recent rains have added 49.605 million cubic meters of water, said Ndamanomhata.
