Swapo Party Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says the party is at a crossroads following the passing of Dr. Sam Nujoma.
Nujoma's death has placed a daunting task ahead for the ruling party, she said.
Speaking at the Swapo Party's extraordinary central committee meeting at the weekend, Nandi-Ndaitwah implored party cadres to put their differences aside, unite, and stand up for the party and the country.
Nandi-Ndaitwah reminded party members that this year is also an election year.
She said the party lost 12 seats after the National Assembly elections last year, adding that this was a serious matter that warrants a critical self-examination.
She called for deep introspection and encouraged party members to aggressively prepare for this year's local authority and regional council elections.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said that leadership across all levels must focus on selecting capable, committed, and visionary leaders who understand the needs of the people and who will work tirelessly to improve the lives of the communities.
