The Namibia Industrial Development Agency (NIDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to reviving the Manyeha Crocodile Farm Project in Kongola.

Its Acting Chief Executive Officer, Phillip Namundjebo, revealed that NIDA has entered into a partnership with Sable Hills tourism operator to refurbish the farm while addressing the Mashi Traditional Authority.

Namundjebo said the Manyeha Crocodile Farm holds significant potential for industrial and tourism development.

NIDA has confirmed that clearance will start next week, while renovations of the existing infrastructure will commence thereafter.

"The idea will start with the tourism component, two phases of the tourism component, and the second part, the crocodile breeding. We want to make Kongola one of the tourism hubs. We are under pressure from the government to perform, and we want to travel at the same speed."

NIDA is confident that through collaboration, the farm will soon become a catalyst for local employment, skills development, and sustainable economic growth for the region.

Zambezi Governor Dorothy Kabula, who is one of the founders and initiators of the Manyeha Crocodile Farm, welcomed the new developments.

Kabula observed that the project presents an important opportunity for the local communities.

"We commend NIDA for its continued commitment and for engaging both the regional leadership and the Mashi Traditional Authority as key stakeholders in this process. We are optimistic that with coordinated efforts and transparency, this initiative will bring tangible benefits to the people of Kongola and the broader Zambezi Region."

Mashi Fumu Joseph Mayuni appreciated the government efforts and partners in development.

"We are very happy today, as the governor brought us developers who can take our country to greater heights. We are told that soon they will start; only a few days are left. Let's work together; if we do not work together, nothing will go forward. Let's come together and make sure that our projects here are going forward. Let's receive our investors and work closely with them so that we progress."
