Learners at Moses Van Der Byl Primary School have been encouraged to believe in their dreams and remain determined despite challenges, as Miss Namibia Johanna Swartbooi inspired their young minds to become what she calls stubborn dreamers."

Standing before an excited group of learners, Johanna Swartbooi shared her personal journey from growing up in a small dusty village in southern Namibia to wearing the Miss Namibia crown, reminding learners that success begins with imagination and belief.

She urged learners not to let their backgrounds or circumstances define them, highlighting that dreams are possible.

During the interaction, the learners shared their dreams of becoming teachers, doctors, lawyers, and others.

“I’m from the southern part of Namibia, near Keetmanshoop, from a small village called Vaalgras. It’s a very dusty place—no proper streets, just old gravel roads. That’s where I come from: the dusty streets of Vaalgras. One thing I learned growing up is how to be myself. When I visited my mom in Donkerhoek, I used to play with donkey carts. I would even build my own little donkey carts. Who here knows about donkey carts? That was my childhood. I am just an ordinary person, just like you. But today, I stand here as Miss Namibia—and that did not happen by accident. It happened because I had a dream. I dared to imagine something bigger for myself. It is because of that dream that I am standing here today as Miss Namibia, in my fancy heels and beautiful dress. All of it began with imagination. The beautiful thing about being a child is having a wild imagination. And sometimes, those dreams we carry as children are the very things that shape our future.”

The learners also received certificates during the interaction in various subjects.
