The Cabinet has approved the establishment of the Green Hydrogen Industries Council, bringing together key national leaders and institutions to guide and coordinate the nation's green industrial development.

This is one of the resolutions presented by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus.

The Council will be chaired by the Director General of the National Planning Commission, with other members being the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, the Minister of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, the Minister of International Relations and Trade, the Minister of Urban and Rural Development and, of course, the Attorney General and the Governor of the Bank of Namibia.

The Cabinet further noted the 47% vaccination coverage in the early round three and the end of door-to-door efforts, directing health authorities to reactivate them in areas where epidemiological risks require them.

"As a result, the Cabinet directed the Ministry of Health and Social Services to consider the reactivation of door-to-door vaccination for certain areas when the need arises, in due consideration of the epidemiological risks associated with ceasing door-to-door initiatives."

Cabinet further approved a coordinated effort led by the Ministry of Health and Social Services to work with regional and local partners in strengthening planning, implementation and health safety collaboration across Africa.

"The Cabinet authorised the Ministry of Health and Social Services, through the Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council, to coordinate all the planning, implementation, and stakeholder engagements in collaboration with ISOP Africa, the local organising committee, and the scientific committee. The ISOP is a regional non-governmental organisation dedicated to fostering and developing pharmacovigilance and patient safety across the African continent."
