The National Assembly will only accept bills from now until the first of November 2022.

Prof. Peter Katjavivi, the House Speaker, announced this, stating that it will now be standard procedure in the National Assembly.

alerted those who wish or plan to table bills that they only have about four weeks left to do so.

He explained that this would also give ample time for members of the National Council to consider and review bills passed by the National Assembly.

At the same time, the House Speaker further informed the parliamentarians of a relaxation of the COVID-19 measures in relation to parliament attendance.

Under this relaxation, the public gallery will now be open and members of the public are now allowed to attend and observe the sessions.
