The Erongo Police are investigating a case in which body parts were discovered floating in a plastic bag in a sewage dam at Karibib.

Regional Commander Nikolaus Kupembona confirmed the gruesome discovery to nbc News.

The Commissioner says two legs, arms and feet were found in the plastic bag but the rest of the body parts were not there.

According to him, the police are suspecting that the body parts belong to a child because of the small size of the feet.

Earlier this week, a six-year-old boy from the Ebenhaiser Primary School in Karibib was reported missing in the town.

It is alleged that Myne Oswyn left his mother's house last Monday in Harambe location to visit his grandfather in the same location.

On Tuesday afternoon, the grandfather allegedly escorted the boy halfway to his mother's house, but he never arrived, and both the mother nor the grandfather were aware that he was missing.

It was only discovered that Oswyn was missing when the mother took him some clothes last Friday, where she was informed that the grandfather had already escorted the boy on Tuesday, and was no longer at that house.

The matter was reported to the police, and investigations into his disappearance have been ongoing.

The police have not linked the two incidents, however.
