The University of Namibia hosted its first motivational talk show known as TED Talks, post-COVID-19 pandemic.

The globally renowned platform hosts speakers across all walks of life to inspire and stimulate positive change in all spheres of life through personal life stories.

Speaking to nbc News on the sidelines of the event, UNAM's Executive Dean of Health Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Professor Judith Hall, expressed joy with the return of the TED Talk, saying the importance of such platforms in the world of uncertainty is crucial.

They pledged to grow the platform to stimulate ideas to positively impact the issues facing people.

UNAM last hosted its TED Talk four years ago, mainly due to the advent of the COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings.

The issues discussed ranged from issues facing Africa's growth trajectory and a plea to harness its people's ability to curb issues of poverty, inequality, stagnant economic growth and culture, among others.

The TED Talks are often pre-recorded according to strict criteria on content and are widely shared on social media platforms, particularly video-streaming sites such as YouTube.
