Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has concluded her visit to Caracas, Venezuela.

She had been in Venezuela on a working visit since December 18 at the invitation of Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Tortosa.

During their meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed their resolve to continue strengthening their strategic relations at the highest level and expand the agenda of collaboration in key strategic sectors including energy, agriculture, commerce and industry, arts and culture, education, and tourism.

They also agreed to encourage the exchange of business visits between the two countries to initiate commercial cooperation and investment between the two countries and establish a working relationship between the Chambers of Commerce of the respective countries.

On regional matters, the Minister of the People's Power for Foreign Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela recognized the role of the Government of Namibia in the international arena, especially within the African Union and the Southern African Development Community.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Nandi-Ndaitwah also commended the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for its role in regional integration, in particular the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, as well as the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Treaty.

The Parties reaffirmed the need to reinforce South-South cooperation. In this regard, they discussed the reactivation of the Strategic Presidential Roundtable to define the themes of the Working Groups, with the aim of creating solid bases for the holding of the 4th Africa-South America Summit.
 
They have also reaffirmed the necessity for the reform of the United Nations Security Council in order to make it more inclusive, democratic, representative of the political and current configuration of the world, and more relevant in the management of the current global challenges.
