Omuthiya voters hopeful ahead of elections

As voters in the Omuthiya Constituency of the Oshikoto Region prepare to cast their ballots on 26 November in the Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections, many say they have high expectations and do not want their votes to be in vain.

Over 600 new voters registered in ||Kharas for upcoming elections

More than 600 new voters across the ||Kharas Region had registered during the supplementary registration of voters to participate in the November Local Authorities and Regional Councils elections by Thursday.

The supplementary registration began on Monday and runs until 19 August.

7,199 eligible voters cast their votes locally in the special voting process for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections by 15:00, while 586 Namibians voted at foreign missions.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Namibia, Elsie Nghikembua, described this as a good turnout.

President Nangolo Mbumba has called on eligible voters to utilise the remaining days to register.

This call was amplified by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology for eligible voters to be able to exercise their civic duties come November 27th.
