Road accidents claimed the lives of 80 people between November 15 and January 5, according to the Namibian Police.
Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi revealed that 472 crashes were recorded during this period, resulting in 918 injuries.
Over 10,000 firearms, ammunition magazines, and explosive ordinances have been surrendered to the Namibian Police over the past three years.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) seized nearly 745,000 kilogrammes of cannabis during a series of operations around the country in July.
NamPol, in a statement on Thursday, said various drug substances were confiscated and 130 individuals arrested between 01 and 31 July.
A motor vehicle accident claimed the lives of the driver and four passengers in the early hours of this morning on the B1 road between Tsumeb and Oshivelo.
A Windhoek resident and mother of a six-year-old child is expected to appear in the Katutura Magistrate's Court tomorrow on a charge of assault.
