The children of the late President Hage Geingob shared fond memories of their father at a memorial service last night at Casa Rosalia.

The late Geingob's eldest daughter, Nangula Geingos, spoke about her father's love for every Namibian, describing him as someone who fathered the entire nation with equal love and concern. 

Kayla Elago highlighted her father's inspirational nature and selflessness, expressing gratitude for his care and concern for others.

The atmosphere was sombre as people signed the book of condolence and offered their sympathy and tributes to the former First Lady and children at the Geingob residence.

David Nghipunduka, who was a friend to President Geingob, shared fond memories of their time together and emphasised the importance of unity as a nation during this period of mourning.

Doctor Elijah Ngurare, who was accompanied by his spouse Albertina, signed the book of condolences and spoke of the impact that President Geingob had on the nation and the young people in particular.

Aukoredi presents condolences, traditional attire to former first lady Monica Geingos

He also spoke about his role in assisting President Geingob at the time when he left the country for a life in exile.

This was done during scheduled visits to Casa Rosalia.
