The children of the late President Hage Geingob shared fond memories of their father at a memorial service last night at Casa Rosalia.

The late Geingob's eldest daughter, Nangula Geingos, spoke about her father's love for every Namibian, describing him as someone who fathered the entire nation with equal love and concern. 

Kayla Elago highlighted her father's inspirational nature and selflessness, expressing gratitude for his care and concern for others. 

The atmosphere was sombre as people signed the book of condolence and offered their sympathy and tributes to the former First Lady and children at the Geingob residence.

David Nghipunduka, who was a friend to President Geingob, shared fond memories of their time together and emphasised the importance of unity as a nation during this period of mourning.

Doctor Elijah Ngurare, who was accompanied by his spouse Albertina, signed the book of condolences and spoke of the impact that President Geingob had on the nation and the young people in particular.

In a touching display of solidarity and cultural support, the Aukoredi visited the former First Lady Monica Geingos to offer their condolences and provide her with traditional Damara attire for mourning. 

The gesture was aimed at honouring the local customs and traditions.

Since 2016, the Aukoredi has shared a friendship with the First Lady, characterised by the exchange of traditional Damara dresses and engagement in cultural activities. 

The late President Hage Geingob was honoured at a memorial service held in Katutura, where prominent members of society, including Kanana Hishoono, a Swapo veteran, and Senior Headman Karol Afrikaaner, paid tribute to his impactful leadership and dedication to the nation. 

Hishoono reminisced about his experiences, sharing fond memories with the late president, indicating a strong bond. 

He also spoke about his role in assisting President Geingob at the time when he left the country for a life in exile.

The Public Service Commission visited Casa Rosalia to express their condolences to former First Lady Monica Geingos and her family.

The team was led by the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Salmaan Jacobs, who signed the book of condolence and expressed their support during this difficult time.

The memorial service for the late President, Hage Geingob saw an outpouring of sentimental tributes from various dignitaries and performers at the Independence Arena in Katutura. 

The Director of the Law Society of Namibia, Neliswa Tjahikika, highlighted President Geingob's instrumental role in the drafting of the Namibian Constitution. 

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation's Director General, Stanley Similo, commended the late President Geingob for his influence on media freedom during his visit to Casa Rosalia.

Similo, accompanied by his wife Alna, who is the current Principal of Suiderhof Primary School, visited the family of the late President Geingob to express their condolences and offer their support during this difficult time.

After signing the Book of Condolence, the nbc Director General stated that the late President made a significant impact on media freedom.

National Council members and government executive directors expressed their deepest sympathies and offered their support to the Geingo family during their time of mourning.

This was done during scheduled visits to Casa Rosalia.

Victoria Kauma, Vice Chairperson of the National Council, conveyed a heartfelt message of condolence on behalf of the members of the MPs to Monica Geingos, the children, and the family at their residence.

The government's executive directors also paid their respects and offered condolences to the Geingo family.

The United Nations in Namibia has expressed deep sadness at the death of President Hage Geingob and highlighted that they stood, just as Geingob did, for the values of human rights, social justice, and the well-being of the Namibian people.

Hopolang Phororo, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Namibia, praised Geingob's leadership and vision for the country.

She emphasised the UN's commitment to continue working with Namibia to achieve the goals and aspirations that President Geingob had set for the country.

The Chairperson of the Council of Traditional Leaders, Gaob Immanuel |Gaseb, has expressed his sympathies to former First Lady Monica Geingos, her children, and family.

|Gaseb, as the Chairperson of the Council of Traditional Leaders in Namibia, was among those who offered their condolences and sympathies to the family of the late Dr. Geingob at the private residence, Casa Rosalia, on the outskirts of Windhoek.

He also described the late Geingob as someone who enjoyed humour, had faith in people, and offered them opportunities.
