The Ambassador of China paid a courtesy visit to President Nangolo Mbumba, updating the head of state on developments between the two countries. 

President Mbumba assured the ambassador of Namibia's continued commitment to solid relations with China.

Liberation icon Ida Jimmy-!Ha-Eiros buried

Speaking at the state funeral of the liberation icon Ida Jimmy-!Ha-Eiros today, President Nangolo Mbumba has hailed the late struggle stalwart as an unyielding figure who dedicated her life to the liberation and freedom of her country.

Jimmy-!Ha-Eiros died on April 3 at the age of 79.

President Mbumba lays wreath on Alpo Mbamba's grave

President Nangolo Mbumba paid a visit and laid a wreath on the grave of the late Alpo Mauno Mbamba at Mupini Village in the Kavango West Region. 

President Mbumba and the late Mbamba were classmates from 1960 to 1965 at Ongwediva and Oshingabo High Schools.

President Nangolo Mbumba says nobody would object to the proposal that the 28th of May be commemorated as Genocide Remembrance Day in Namibia, if that is the common position of all descendants.

President Nangolo Mbumba has conferred the honour of National Hero on late struggle stalwart Ida Jimmy !Ha-Eiros and directed that a State Funeral be held in her honour.

Jimmy-!Ha-Eiros will be buried on a date and place to be agreed upon with the family.

Southern traditional leaders laud smooth transition of power

These include drought, progress on the Nama and Ovaherero genocide negotiations, and chieftaincy succession disputes.
