Namibia will promote its interests in energy transition and innovation-led growth at the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, from 11–12 May 2026.

Vice President Lucia Witbooi will represent Namibia, engaging in discussions on innovation, food security, and renewable energy.

TAXI, BUS FARES TO INCREASE BY 15 PERCENT

Following transport operators’ concerns, the government has approved a 15 percent increase in taxi and bus fares, effective 18 May.


A one-way taxi fare will be N$15, and N$30 to any place without a taxi rank.
