Since the opening of its mission in Namibia, the Zambian High Commission has been using the same visitors' book.

This is not because the mission does not receive visitors, but because the book is large enough and has been carefully preserved over the years.

CANDLELIGHT REMEMBRANCE HONOURS ARCHBISHOP TJIJOMBO

The Father Tjijombo St. John's Faith Mission in Windhoek organised a candlelight remembrance in honour of the life of the late Archbishop Petrus Tjijombo.

Archbishop Tjijombo died in 2023 on 16 July, and the candlelight ceremony formed part of activities to commemorate his life and legacy.

The Employment Equity Commission (EEC) has concluded another session of its review panel hearing in Windhoek.

Out of 11 hearings, four cases were successful and granted compliance certificates, while seven cases were unsuccessful with final orders issued disapproving the affirmative action reports.

CITY INSPECTS ELECTRIFICATION PROJECTS

The City of Windhoek conducted site visits to ongoing electrification projects across the capital to assess progress on the rollout of the electricity infrastructure that will benefit over 1,200 households. 

The project, which is 80% completed, is expected to be finalised in September.
