Man arrested for fatally stabbing cousin

The Namibian Police (NamPol) Force in the Omusati Region has arrested a 36-year-old man after he reportedly stabbed to death his 41-year-old cousin.

Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo reappointed

President Nangolo Mbumba has reappointed Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo as Inspector General of the Namibian Police for a period of three years. 

The appointment is with effect from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2027.

This is in line with efforts to involve communities in the fight against crime, especially stock theft, which is rampant in the region.
