The Namibian Police (NamPol) Force in the Omusati Region has arrested a 36-year-old man after he reportedly stabbed to death his 41-year-old cousin.

The Namibian Police in the Otjozondjupa Region have recorded two suicides in Otjiwarongo and Grootfontein on Monday. 

The Inspector General of the Namibian Police, Joseph Shikongo, says the government is committed to improving the facilities where the police are operating to make their working conditions conducive. 

The Namibian Police will deploy 4,677 personnel to 121 constituencies across the country to maintain law and order during elections.

Provision was made for members of the security cluster to cast their votes on the 13th of November to fully dedicate time to their jobs.

Members of the Namibian Police, from various departments in all 14 regions, recently completed a disciplinary hearing workshop at Rundu.

The training is meant to enhance the level of integrity, fairness, and accountability in the Namibian Police Force.

President Nangolo Mbumba has reappointed Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo as Inspector General of the Namibian Police for a period of three years.

The Namibian Police in the Otjozondjupa Region hosted a five-day training exercise for the Okakarara Constituency Crime Prevention Association (OCCPA).

This is in line with efforts to involve communities in the fight against crime, especially stock theft, which is rampant in the region.

The Namibian Police have established a Cold Case Investigation Team to look into some of the unsolved murders, including those of children, that shocked the nation over the years.
