Over 30 people die in human-wildlife conflict

The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Pohamba Shifeta has revealed that a total of 33 people have died as a result of the human-wildlife conflict from 2019 to date.

Namibians urged to be on high alert on Marburg Viral Disease

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) says Namibia needs to be vigilant and on high alert, on Marburg Viral Disease particularly at the main border crossings and at public and private facilities.  

The country has not detected any case of Marburg viral disease to date.  

Hand grenade detonation kills 48-year old man at Chotto Compound

A 48-year-old man died at Katima Mulilo's Chotto compound after a hand grenade detonated.

The grenade victim was home with his family after it is presumed he picked up the grenade earlier.

His family remembers him hitting the object, unknown to them at the time, with a stick.

36-year-old died after he was stabbed with a knife

A 36-year-old resident of Utokoka Village in Kavango East's Mashare Constituency,  Andreas Kampala died on the spot after he was stabbed with a knife.

According to NamPol's Kavango East Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Bonifatius Kanyetu, Kampala was stabbed after a disagreement.

Jayden Isacks body recovered
