Swartbooi vs Katjavivi case starts in High Court

In what could turn into a legal precedent of titanic proportions, Bernadus Swartbooi, the leader of the Landless People's Movement, has taken on the Speaker of the National Assembly in a motion to review decisions taken by the legislative body.

The case started this morning in the High Court.

Late Ignatius Shixwameni remembered

The National Assembly held a remembrance ceremony for the late Ignatius Shixwameni who died of a heart attack at parliament last year November. 

The remembrance ceremony was also aimed at creating awareness of prevention measures and how to handle heart attacks.
