The Police at Katima Mulilo are investigating a case of murder and defeating the course of justice after the body of an unknown man was exhumed at Chefuzwe in the Liselo area.
It is believed that the deceased was assaulted and killed before he was buried in a shallow grave.
The police at Katima Mulilo received a tip-off from members of the public and acted immediately.
A 34-year-old man from Chefuzwe was arrested.
The Police Crime Investigations Coordinator in Zambezi, Deputy Commissioner Kenneth Simbwae, told nbc News that the suspect is believed to have buried the man after a suspected fight between the two.
Deputy Commissioner Simbwae says the suspect lived in an isolated village with his wife and mother at Chefuzwe, north of the New Cowboy compound at Katima Mulilo.
This is the second case of this nature, and Deputy Commissioner Simbwaye urged the public to report cases of suspected murder.
The Crime Investigations Coordinator says the incident happened on February 19, and police only got information after ten days.
The suspect is expected to make his first appearance in Katima Mulilo Magistrates Court.
In another incident, the body of a man was found on Ngoma Road near Makaravan East.
Police suspect that the deceased was killed in a hit-and-run incident early Saturday morning.
