Rehoboth tops the list of drug busts over the Easter weekend.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at Rehoboth after he was found in possession of four full and one-quarter Mandrax tablets, valued at N$550. 

Another Rehoboth resident, a 39-year-old man, was also arrested after he was found with 16 bankies of cannabis valued at N$160.

A 33-year-old man was also arrested in the same town after he was found in possession of one parcel of pure skunk valued at N$1200.

Two male suspects, ages 21 and 27, were further arrested at Rehoboth after they were found in possession of skunk cannabis weighing 10 grams and valued at
N$500. 

All suspects will appear in court on April 11, 2023, at Rehoboth Magistrate's Court.

Meanwhile, a suspect died after a suspected drug overdose at Rehoboth.

It is alleged that two male suspects were arrested after they were found with 10 ballies with a total value of N$160.00.

They were then escorted to the station and were to be detained for possession of cannabis, but upon arrival, one suspect collapsed.

The officers then learned from the co-accused that the suspect had swallowed an unknown number of Mandrax tablets prior to the arrest, and he was immediately rushed to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment but was declared dead on arrival.

No foul play is suspected at this stage. The exact cause of death is unknown, but a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause. The deceased was 39 years old.
